About the Milan 3-Seater Recliner Sofa

Three seats on one frame, the outer two reclining and the middle one fixed. The cream hourglass repeats on every back cushion and the open V repeats on both outer arms, which is what keeps it reading as one object rather than three chairs pushed together. Pillow-top arms slope down toward the back, and the back sits tall relative to the seat depth.

How it is made

  • Frames are built from plywood and engineered wood, with metal where a piece needs it, such as a recliner's mechanism.
  • Frames are joined with glue and screws, and with mortise and tenon joints.
  • Seats sit on sinuous steel springs, or on the recliner's own mechanism.
  • Cushions are high-density and high-resilience foam, some with a memory foam layer, wrapped in fibre or feather.
